Taking A Moment…

Just a quick note to let you all know that I haven’t disappeared – we have had a death in our family.  My husband’s grandmother passed away after a long struggle with cancer.  This weekend also brought my youngest daughter’s birthday.  She turned 3, so we have been busy trying to give her a special day in the midst of everything going on.  So…life is a little crazy right now!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will be back to regularly scheduled posting on Tuesday!

  1. Prayers for you, your husband, and all family/friends that your grandmother in law touched during her life. Birthdays and end days are reminders to give our most and let God live through us at all times…

  2. Sorry about your family’s loss, Stephanie, and please pass my condolences on to your husband. I too, went missing myself these past two weeks. Trying to get back on track but quite the challenge in my always-hopping household.I’ll be darned if is isn’t that 30-40-minute meal recipe I promised you two Fridays ago.

    • 🙂 Thank you for the condolences! It’s tough to get back into the swing of things – almost like you need a vacation from time away to get things in order!

  3. I’m very sorry to hear she had a long battle. Now that her fight is over may she find peace and comfort in the loving arms of the Almighty. And may through faith that she is with the Mighty Healer bring enough comfort to your hearts that you can celebrate the young life that is unfolding before you with joyous celebration and without burden.

    • Thank you so much for the kind words – I am thankful that she is no longer in pain and is at last in peace. Knowing that we will see her again brings much comfort. Our little one said her gammy is an angel now, singing with Jesus – comforting words from the mouth of babes!

    • Thank you, and you are right – her birthday was a much needed distraction for us. Watching her celebrate and enjoy her day helped keep everything in perspective – there is a time for every season under the sun.

  4. I’m sorry to hear your sad news, but you and your family will be in my prayers. But in the midst of your sadness, you have your daughter’s birthday, a gentle reminder from above about life’s beautiful continuation, I think. ❤

    • Thank you Stacy! Yes it is, a great reminder – and it turned out to be just what we needed! Celebrating her birthday was the perfect way to take a deep breath and just enjoy something beautiful.

  5. I’m so sorry for your loss. I send a prayer to you all. I too am coping with my mom’s cancer and my step daughter’s wedding at the same time – I relate. It’s hard to celebrate when you are so sad.

Stay strong and remember that God never gives us more than we can handle.

    • Thank you! And prayers coming your way – God doesn’t give us any more than we can handle, He is always there – no matter what is going on. That fact comforts me so much.

      • Thank you! I said those very words to my husband just the other day….when we both felt that we can’t take another piece of bad news.

        Prayers all around – xoxo

  6. You’re living life in all its elements. It’s not always easy, but then again we don’t learn a whole lot when it’s apple pie and sunshine. Look forward to having you back in the saddle again.

  7. My deepest condolences for your loss. May her soul rest in peace and may the Lord comfort all the family and loved ones. I would also like to wish your little daughter a Happy Birthday! May God grant her many wonderful, joyous years filled with abundant blessings!

  8. I am so very sorry! As hard as it is, it’s the lives of the little ones who give us a sense of joy in the midst of our heartache. My granddaughter just turned three and I know how much they are aware of this is their time! I pray God will give you and your family peace in the middle of a very difficult time. oxo Debra

    • Thank you Debra! Celebrating her birthday was a nice break from all the goings on this weekend – seeing her joy and excitement was such a comfort to us!

  9. Happy birthday to your daughter. So sorry for your loss. My Mammaw passed away at 72 after a long struggle with cancer, so I can imagine what your family must be going through. My thoughts are with you!
